Priest-Zimmerman, Inc. was founded by Don Zimmerman in 1988, representing a single manufacturer out of a small office.
What the firm did with its growth is what set it apart. Rather than sell from a catalog, it put product on its own shelves, and today serves as the regional distribution center for a number of the lines it carries. Rather than leave training to the factory, it built a live-fire training center inside its own building — where more than 5,000 customers have come through for hands-on instruction, and where local municipalities now certify their backflow inspectors.
That work has not gone unrecognized. Elkay — the first line Priest-Zimmerman ever carried — named the firm its Representative of the Year in 2013, and again in 2014.
Shad and Scott Zimmerman acquired the company from Don in 2020. Since then they have broadened the line card, expanded into market segments and parts of the industry the firm had not previously served, and grown the team around them — while holding to the standard the company was built on: know the product, support the specification, and stand behind the sale.
